In this task we practised lighting and photography with an array of still life objects. This task enabled me to experiment with different lighting styles and positions. The lighting techniques I used consisted of phone torches, LED lights and a lighting reflector with silver and gold on either side to add warmth and coolness.
Some of the images below have quite dark tones to them and look dull, this is due to the ‘playing’ around with the level and extremity of light and moving the sources closer and further away.
Despite the above being darker, it is one of my favourites out of this set. The reason being that it shows a successful experiment with darker lighting. The chosen objects have different angles and layers which gives texture and enables bolder and more illuminated shadows. The shadows add an aesthetic look to the piece as a whole and the yellow background really compliments with the shadowing and gives it a yellow hue/halo around the outside of the objects.
The above is my favourite out of this set of images as it looks brighter and more saturated. The right hand-side of this image looks more exposed and the background stands out alt more. This is something I will carry forward with me when I take my final images so that my levels and contrasts compliment each other well.
